Last updated: June 16, 2026

FixMate Connect ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform. Please read this policy carefully. By using FixMate Connect, you agree to the practices described herein.

1

Information We Collect

We collect several types of information to provide and improve our services. This includes information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the platform, and information from third-party integrations.

  • Full name and email address
  • Password (stored in encrypted form — never in plain text)
  • Account type (customer or contractor)
  • Account creation date and last login activity
  • Profile image (if provided)

This information is required to create and maintain your account, authenticate your identity, and personalize your experience on the platform.

1.2 Contractor Profile Information

If you register as a contractor, we collect additional information to build your public professional profile:

Our platform facilitates communication between customers and contractors. When you send or receive messages, we collect and store:

  • Message content and timestamps
  • Sender and recipient identifiers
  • Quote requests and responses
  • Any attachments or files shared within messages

Messages are stored to provide continuity of service, support dispute resolution, and maintain a record of agreements between parties. We do not read or analyze message content for advertising purposes.

1.4 Uploaded Documents

Contractors may upload documents as part of their profile verification process. This includes:

  • Insurance certificates and policy documents
  • Trade licenses and certifications
  • Business registration documentation
  • Portfolio images and project photos

Uploaded documents are stored securely and used solely for the purpose of verification and profile display. Insurance documents are reviewed by our administrative team for verification and are not shared with third parties without your consent.

Important: We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or banking details. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We receive only tokenized references to your payment method.

Data Security

Our Security Commitment

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect it from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Our security measures include:

  • Encryption at rest and in transit: All data is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (TLS/SSL) during transmission, and sensitive data is encrypted at rest.
  • Password security: Passwords are hashed using strong cryptographic algorithms and are never stored in plain text.
  • Access controls: Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only, on a need-to-know basis.
  • Secure document storage: Uploaded documents are stored in secure cloud infrastructure with access logging.
  • Payment security: Payment processing is fully delegated to Stripe, which maintains PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance — the highest level of certification available in the payments industry.
  • Session management: User sessions are managed securely with expiring tokens and safeguards against session hijacking.

While we implement robust security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable laws.

4

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With other users: Contractor profile information (company name, trade, service area, verification status) is visible to customers on the platform.
  • With service providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating our platform (e.g., Stripe for payments, cloud hosting providers). These vendors are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • For legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • For safety: We may disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of FixMate Connect, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5

  • Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account
  • Payment and transaction records are retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance
